We Use High Performance Debarkers to Save Valuable Surface Fiber so more Finished Lumber can be made from each Raw Log.

Debarking and Sawing to Rough Length are the First Steps in the Log Breakdown Process

Logs are put onto the deck that feeds a highspeed Nicholson A5A debarker to remove all of the bark.

A conveyor then moves the debarked log to the merchandising deck where it is sawn into 8 and 10 foot (240 cm and 300 cm) lengths as determined by the initial overall log length.

Logs are then conveyed to the sawmill headrigs for the primary log breakdown phase of production.

Two levels of monitoring ensure Cascade's ability to produce the finest quality and highest value product.  Here, as with all areas in our facilities, our management system does a regular series of performance checks to analyze the production process.

In addition to the management system, our highly skilled staff of Quality and Process Control Technicians monitor the product and make sure that it meets our high standards of quality.

These systems help us give you the very best lumber at very competitive best prices.
