![]() Computer Controlled Drying is the Next Step in Conditioning the Raw Lumber The stickered lumber is stacked three units high and loaded into one of Cascade's 16 large kilns. Swing coils are placed between every third stack of units to provide uniform heating. Our kiln operators use Lignomat computerized controllers to monitor the drying process and to insure a rich even color and the consistent desired moisture content. When the drying process is finished, automated controls start the lumber conditioning and equalizing cycles, then shut down the kiln at the proper time. Each board is scanned by an inline moisture detector. Any board with a moisture content more than 11 percent is removed and returned to the kilns. |
